Johnson & Johnson halts advertisements on ‘The View’ due to nurse comments

Check out host Pleasure Behar saw a nurse and requested, “why does she have a doctor’s stethoscope on?” ABC’s popular daytime discuss present, The See, has had two sponsors end operating ads right after the show’s hosts made controversial remarks about nurses.

“We disagree with latest comments on daytime tv about the nursing career and we have paused our advertising accordingly,” advertiser Johnson &amp Johnson said in a statement. “We’re fully commited to raising the level of recognition about the talent and knowledge that the occupation demands.”

The comments came on Monday, when the hosts of the all-female daytime panel show made snarky remarks about Overlook Colorado Kelley Johnson. Johnson appeared on Sunday’s Overlook America telecast dressed in scrubs and donning a stethoscope to talk about her operate as a nurse.

View co-host Michelle Collins mocked Johnson, expressing “she came out in a nurse’s uniform and basically read her e-mail out loud, and shockingly, did not earn.”

Check out co-host Joy Behar added, “Why does she have a doctor’s stethoscope on?”

Those responses quickly began an on-line firestorm, and the hashtag #NursesUnite commenced trending.

Yet another sponsor of The Look at, Eggland’s Greatest, responded to the backlash on its site stating, “in mild of the responses about the nursing occupation lately made on daytime tv we will no more time be advertising and marketing on the present in issue.”

On Wednesday, Collins explained that the responses have been “taken out of context.”

“We really like nurses,” she explained. “We adore you. We respect you.”

Johnson &amp Johnson declined to say whether it will publicize on the demonstrate once more.

ABC experienced no remark relating to the decline of sponsors.
